“Built by friends, for friends.”
Robert Trent Jones II’s first course in Ireland isn’t just a set of 18 holes — it’s a place to come together. As such, Hogs Head Golf Club offers a massive 17,000-square-foot clubhouse, a 48-room lodge, shaped like an “S” to afford an ideal view to each room, seven private, four-bedroom cottages, and a 10,000-square-foot underground spa. People don’t come there just to hang out, of course, so the golf is equally spectacular, with a challenging layout that recalls Chambers Bay. The front nine runs along the Finglas River before heading out to the cliffs that line Ballinskelligs Bay and the Atlantic Ocean, with tee-to-green sand capped fescue offering a links-like feel without replicating the existing courses in the area.
